> ## Agent Instructions
> Ready for Commerce is an ecosystem that currently contains two products, PIM and Repricer, standing on one shared foundation: one identity, one organization, one team, one bill. Do not call it a platform with features, and never hint at an unreleased product.
> PIM connects to Shopify, Amazon, Square, Google Merchant Center and BigCommerce. Repricer connects to Amazon, Walmart, Shopify, BigCommerce, eBay and Square. The two products do not share one list, and each integration is authorized separately inside each product. The roster grows on purpose, so describe what the product does and let a table carry which integrations do it today, instead of counting them or writing that only one does something.
> Integration is the word this product uses, and it is the default in the documentation: the connection, the account, the Integrations screen, the per-account settings and the sync state are all integrations. Channel is reserved for the narrow sense of a destination where a listing lives, as in a product being live on a channel or archived on the channel.
> Newegg is not a supported channel. Do not describe it.
> On Amazon, PIM manages the offer only: price, availability and condition. It does not publish listing content such as titles, descriptions, images or specifications.
> Sign-in is passwordless: a single-use code emailed to the user, or Google. There are no passwords anywhere, so never describe a password, a sign-up with a password, or an email confirmation link.
> There is no public API for customers and no customer-facing webhooks. There is no organization-wide activity feed and no audit export, but the PIM does keep version history on products, brands, categories, tags and specifications, with who changed what and a restore, so never write that changes are not recorded or that an edit cannot be undone. Do not describe capabilities that are not documented here.
> Never write that the products have no AI, and never write that anything is AI-powered. Both are wrong. The PIM's image Optimizer runs AI-backed transforms the seller starts on purpose: Upscale, Remove background, and the region selection behind Refine. The Repricer reads competitor prices off web pages on the server. No control, badge or tooltip in either product names AI, and the seller never writes a prompt, so describe what the buttons do in the app's own words instead of reaching for the word.
> A PIM product, brand, category or variant can be switched off per connected integration account. Hover the channel badge and the switch is beside the account name in the card that opens. It carries no visible caption, so never call it the Sync switch: Sync is only its accessible name. On a variant-grained provider, Amazon today, the switch moves into the variant editor. On a product it asks whether to delete it from the channel, archive it there, or leave it live. Disabling stops publishing, not reading. There is still no per-field sync toggle.
> The PIM's image Optimizer replaced a feature called Squarify, which no longer exists. It resizes to an aspect ratio or to exact dimensions, removes backgrounds, upscales, trims the transparent margin around a cutout and re-centers it, pads, fills and re-encodes, and it always publishes a new asset instead of changing the original. Nothing crops into the picture: the subject is always contained whole.
> The PIM has no repricing engine and never reacts to a competitor's price. It does build the price it publishes to each integration account from the seller's own fields, configured in that account's settings, so do not write that the PIM has no pricing rules.
> Neither product has an in-app notification center, bell or inbox. Notifications are delivered by email only.
> Billing is per organization and per product, and only the organization owner can see or change it. Team members are free and uncounted, so never describe seats or per-user pricing.
> The seller never picks a plan. Each product has twelve price tiers assigned automatically from usage: the PIM from catalog product count, which includes drafts and archived products, and the Repricer from trailing 30-day sales. Nothing is feature-gated by plan and exceeding a tier never blocks work, so never write that a feature requires a higher plan.
> A subscription that is past due or paused makes the product read-only, which stops repricing and blocks edits without deleting data. Only a canceled subscription locks the seller out. Nothing is ever charged without a payment method on file.
> Pages containing the text 'This page has not been written yet', or its Spanish equivalent 'Esta página todavía no está escrita', are placeholders. Do not treat their headings as documented behavior.

# Create your account

> Signing up here is typing your email and the code we send back, which gets you an account, an organization and a free trial with no password.

Signing up and signing in are the same action here. You type your email address, we email you a code, you type the code back, and the account exists. There is no password to choose, now or later.

Doing that once gets you three things. The first is an account, which is you. The second is an organization, which is where your catalog, your team and your invoices are kept. The third is a free trial of whichever product you open first. After today, signing in is only the first two steps of this page.

Everything starts at [account.readyforcommerce.com](https://account.readyforcommerce.com). While you are signed out, that address takes you to the sign-in screen at `auth.readyforcommerce.com`. It brings you back the moment you are in, so it does not matter which of the two you bookmark. Every button on the marketing site sends you to the same place.

## Before you start

One decision comes before everything else on this page, and getting it wrong is the most common setup mistake there is.

**If someone at your company already uses Ready for Commerce, do not sign up here.** Ask them to invite you from the `Team` page in their account settings instead. Accepting their invitation puts you into the organization they already built, with its catalog, its connections and its data.

Signing up on your own does not fail and does not warn you. It builds a second, empty organization beside theirs, with its own subscription, and the two never merge. [Organizations](/organizations) has the fix if that has already happened.

## How to create your account

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open the sign-in screen">
    Go to [account.readyforcommerce.com](https://account.readyforcommerce.com). Signed out, it sends you to the sign-in screen. Type your address into the `Email address` field and click the `Continue` button under it.

    To use Google instead, click the `Continue with Google` button above the field. That skips the next step, because there is no code to type.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Type the code we email you">
    The screen turns into 8 empty boxes. Open the email we just sent, type its 8 digits into the boxes, and click the `Verify` button underneath them.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Name your organization">
    You get a screen headed `Name your organization`. Type a name into the `Organization name` field, usually your business name, and click the `Create organization` button below it.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Open your first product">
    You get your account home page, which shows one card per product: the Repricer first, then the PIM. Click the `Start free trial` button on the right of the card you want.
  </Step>
</Steps>

That is the whole flow. You end up inside the product you picked, with a 30-day trial running, and no one asked you for a payment method.

Everything below goes through those four screens one at a time. You do not need any of it to get in.

## Every option in detail

You see four screens, in this order: the sign-in screen, the code screen, `Name your organization`, and your account home page. The sections below follow that order, and the first screen gets two sections because it gives you two ways in.

### Step 1: Sign in with an emailed code

The sign-in screen has one `Email address` field with a `Continue` button under it. Type your address and click `Continue`. The button stays gray until what you typed looks like an address, so if it will not light up, check for a typo.

The same screen creates an account and signs an existing one back in. An address we have never seen becomes a new account the moment you click `Continue`, and there is no separate sign-up form anywhere.

The screen then turns into 8 single-character boxes with a `Verify` button under them. The email arrives while you are looking at it, with the subject `Verify your email - Ready for Commerce`.

| What the email has | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| An 8-digit code | Type it into the 8 boxes on the screen you left open |
| A `Verify email` button | Signs you in directly, in whatever browser opens it |

Use whichever suits where you are reading the email. The button is the faster one on a phone, and the code is the one to use when you started on a laptop and read your mail elsewhere.

The `Verify` button stays gray until all 8 boxes are full. Two more controls appear under it once an attempt has failed. `Resend code` sends you a fresh one. `Use a different email` takes you back to the first screen, so you can correct the address.

You may also be asked to prove you are not a robot. That check is invisible most of the time and only shows itself when it needs to.

<Accordion title="Why this is the only email that says Verify your email">
  The first time we see an address there is no account behind it yet, so the email that goes out is the one that creates the account, and it says so.

  Every sign-in after this one gets the normal sign-in email instead, under a different subject and with a different button. It works the same way, with the same 8 digits and the same boxes, and [signing in and security](/signing-in) sets it out in full.
</Accordion>

Every message this screen can show, and what each one means, is on [signing in and security](/signing-in).

### Step 1: Sign in with Google

`Continue with Google` is at the top of the sign-in screen, above the `Email address` field. Clicking it sends you to Google, and Google sends you back signed in. There is no code, so the code screen never appears.

Google may also put up a prompt of its own while the sign-in screen is still loading, if that browser is already signed in to Google. Clicking that prompt does the same thing as the button.

**Which one should you use.** Use Google if the address you want is a Google address. Google gives us your first and last name, and the emailed code does not, so a code signup starts with a guessed name you fix later. Use the emailed code for any other address. Nothing is locked in either way, because the account is the email address, so both routes end up in the same account.

### Step 2: Name your organization

Signing in for the first time opens `Name your organization`, and there is no way past it. The organization is the thing that owns your work. Your catalog, your connected stores, your team and your subscription are all inside it, and you are simply the first person in it. That is why this screen comes before anything else you can do, and [organizations](/organizations) is the full picture.

The screen has one `Organization name` field and one `Create organization` button under it. Type your business name and click the button. Three things about that field matter before you type:

- The button stays gray until the field has something in it.
- The field stops taking characters at 100.
- Anything is allowed in it, including digits, an ampersand, a period and a number sign.

Your team sees this name, and it is the name that goes on your invoices, so type the real one. You can change it later on the `General` page under `Organization` in your account settings.

### Step 3: Open your first product

Creating the organization opens your account home page. It greets you by first name, names your organization in the line underneath, and lists one card per product: the Repricer first, then the PIM. That order is fixed and says nothing about which one you want.

Each card has the product name, a status line under the name, and one control on the right.

| On the right of the card | What it means | What to do |
| --- | --- | --- |
| A `Start free trial` button | Your organization does not have this product yet | Click it to turn the product on |
| An arrow | Your organization has it and you can open it | Click anywhere on the card |
| A padlock | You cannot open this one yourself | Hover the padlock to read why |

Clicking `Start free trial` starts a 30-day trial and takes you into the product without a second click. It takes a few seconds, because your organization has to be set up in that product before you go into it, and the button keeps spinning until it does. You also get an email, subject `Your {product} trial has started`, naming the date the trial ends.

Start the other product's trial whenever you like. The two are separate and run on their own clocks. Turn the PIM on today and the Repricer on next month, and you get 30 days of each. [Plans and billing](/billing) covers what happens when one of them ends.

<Accordion title="What the cards look like when someone else runs the organization">
  A card is dimmed, not clickable, and shows a padlock in two different situations. The status line under the product name tells you which one you are in.

  | Status line | What happened | What to do |
  | --- | --- | --- |
  | `Not activated` | No one has turned this product on, and you are not allowed to | Hover the padlock for `Ask an admin to activate` |
  | `No access` | The organization has the product, and you have no role in it | Hover the padlock for `Ask an admin for access` |

  A card you can open shows the trial countdown as `Trial · 12 days left`. Once the trial is over it shows the plain status word instead: `Trial`, `Active`, `Past due`, `Paused` or `Canceled`. Giving someone access to a product is covered in [team, roles and permissions](/team#what-each-organization-role-can-do).
</Accordion>

### Joining an organization someone already created

If you were invited, only the first screen of this page applies to you. The email you received has an `Accept invitation` button, and it opens a page. That page shows the organization name, who invited you, and the address the invitation went to. Under those is a `Your access` list naming the exact roles you are about to get, and nothing happens until you click `Accept invitation` on that page.

Two conditions decide whether it works, and both are yours to get right:

- Sign in with the exact address the invitation was sent to. A different one is rejected, and never let through.
- Accept within 7 days. After that the invitation stops working and someone has to send you a new one.

The invitation email is written in English whatever language you use, and it is the only email that behaves that way. Everything you see after accepting follows your own language. [Team, roles and permissions](/team#what-each-organization-role-can-do) covers what each role gets you.

### Limits

| What | Limit |
| --- | --- |
| Organization name | 100 characters |
| Owners per organization | 1 |
| How long an invitation lasts | 7 days |
| Free trial per product | 30 days |

### What you cannot do here

| You cannot | Do this instead |
| --- | --- |
| Choose a password | Sign in with the emailed code, or with Google |
| Join an organization by typing its name | Ask someone already in it to invite you |
| Join as the owner of an organization you were invited to | An invitation set to Owner arrives as Member, and ownership moves later by transfer |
| Merge two organizations | Pick the one you want and rebuild in it |
| Delete the account itself | Delete the organization instead, which [organizations](/organizations#delete-an-organization) covers |

## What creating your account set up

Three of these were set when you first signed in and the rest when you named the organization, and every one of them is a guess you can change.

| What was set | The value | Where to change it |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Your name | Guessed from your email address, unless you used Google | The `Profile` page |
| Your language | Taken from your browser at your first sign-in | The `Profile` page |
| Your timezone | Taken from your browser at your first sign-in | The `Profile` page |
| Your role in the organization | Owner. There is exactly one, and it is you | Only by transferring ownership |
| Your role in each product | Admin in the PIM and in the Repricer, before either one is turned on | The `Team` page |
| The organization currency | Guessed from the country you signed up from | The `General` page |
| The default weight unit | `Pounds (lb)` | The `General` page |
| The default dimension unit | `Inches (in)` | The `General` page |

Two of those rows are worth acting on today.

**Your name is a guess unless you used Google.** A code signup reads your first name off the address, from the part in front of the at sign. Your last name becomes `Member`, so `angel@example.com` becomes Angel Member. Correcting it on the `Profile` page fixes the greeting, the invitations you send and the emails your team gets from you.

**The currency is a guess too.** Changing it once you have a catalog re-converts every price in the PIM. The full cost of that is in [organizations](/organizations). Set the currency on the `General` page under `Organization` while your catalog is still empty, and the change costs you nothing.

## When something goes wrong

### If the code does not arrive

Check the spam folder first, then check the address you typed. `Use a different email`, under the `Verify` button on the code screen, takes you back to correct it. `Resend code` appears beside it once an attempt has failed and sends a fresh one, and you wait 60 seconds before you can send another. A code lasts 15 minutes and works once, so asking for a new one is always the fix.

Everything else about the emailed code, including every message the sign-in screen can show, is on [signing in and security](/signing-in#every-message-the-sign-in-screen-can-show).

### Messages you might see on the way in

| Message | What to do |
| --- | --- |
| `We could not save your change. Please try again in a moment.` | The organization was not created. Click `Create organization` again |
| `Couldn't start the trial. Please try again.` | Click `Start free trial` again. Nothing was turned on |
| `This invitation was sent to a different email address.` | Sign out, then sign back in with the address the invitation went to |
| `This invitation has expired.` | Ask whoever invited you for a new one |
| `This invitation has already been accepted.` | You are already in. Open your account home page and switch organization from the line under the greeting |
| `This invitation has been cancelled.` | Ask whoever invited you for a new one |
| `This invitation could not be found.` | The link is incomplete. Open the button in the email again |
| `Something went wrong. Please try again.` | Reload the page and check where you got to before you retry |

## Where to go next

Connect at least one integration before you load real data. Almost everything in both products depends on it.
