Reports
Reports
The reports turn what your listings did into numbers you can read over a date range you choose, from what you sold to what the repricer is not pricing.
A report is a set of numbers about listings you already have. It counts what you sold, what the repricer did to your prices, and where each of your listings stands today. The answers come back on one screen, as numbers, charts and tables. A report changes nothing on its own, so there is nothing here you can get wrong by clicking it.
There are six of them. Between them they tell you what you sold, how many items that was, and how often you are winning the Buy Box. They also tell you how many prices the repricer changed, what you are making on each listing, and how many of your listings it is pricing at all. You come here when you want a number instead of a row, and when you want it for a stretch of time instead of for this minute.
You find all of this under Reports, the fifth entry in the sidebar down the left. The screen is six cards, one per report, each with one large number on it and a small chart under that number. Click a card and its report opens in a dialog over the screen, with everything the report has inside that dialog.
The bar across the top of the screen has the date range every number is counted over, and the dropdowns that narrow the whole screen down to one seller account. Both of those stay with you when you open a report.
Before you start
What your role lets you do here
Admin, Manager, Editor and Analyst all open Reports and read every number in it. No report is hidden from a role and no figure is trimmed for one, so a number you cannot explain is never one your role is keeping from you.
Two of the reports let you open a listing from a table row, and what you can change on that listing is what your role lets you change anywhere else. Roles are set in team, roles and permissions.
There is nothing to count until an account is connected
Every number here comes from your listings, and your listings come from a connected seller account. So a new organization gets an empty screen until somebody connects one and its first sync finishes. Integrations in the sidebar is where that happens, and only an Admin sees that entry, which integrations covers.
How to read a report
Open the Reports page
Click
Reportsin the sidebar down the left. You get six cards, one for each report.Set the date range
In the bar across the top of the screen is a dropdown reading
Last 30 days. Open it and pick another period from the list, or pick two dates of your own on the calendar beside that list. Every card recounts for what you picked.Narrow the screen if you want to
Beside the date range are up to three more dropdowns,
Integration,AccountandRegion. Leave them onAll Integrations,All AccountsandAll Regionsto count everywhere you sell.Click the card you want
The card opens its report in a dialog over the screen.
SalesopensSales Report,ProfitopensProfitability Report, and the other four are named after their card.Read the report from the top down
A report opens on a row of numbers, with charts under them and a table at the bottom. Hover the small info icon beside any number and you get a sentence saying exactly what that number counts.
That is the whole screen. Close the dialog with the × at the top of it, with the Escape key, or by clicking outside it. You come back to your six cards with the date range and the dropdowns exactly as you left them.
Everything below explains one piece at a time, and each of the six reports has a page of its own. You do not need any of it to read a number.
Every option in detail
The six cards and what each one opens
The Reports page is fixed. You cannot add a card, remove one or move one, and everybody in your organization gets the same six in the same order.
One card and its dialog do not share a name. Profit opens Profitability Report. The other five match.
Buy Box Ownership shows N/A instead of a percentage when you set Integration to one that has no Buy Box. A Buy Box is the featured spot you win against other sellers on the same item, which is how Amazon and Walmart sell, so Amazon and Walmart listings are what that number counts. It counts the ones you have active and in stock.
Setting the date range
Last 30 days is the dropdown at the right of the bar across the top of the screen, and it decides the period every number on the screen is counted over. Open Reports from the sidebar and it starts on Last 30 days every time.
The same dropdown gives you a calendar beside that list. Pick a start date and an end date on it and the screen counts between the two, and the dropdown then reads your two dates instead of a period name.
One report has no date range at all. Repricing Health counts your listings as they stand this minute, so the dropdown is missing from its dialog. Which of the other five it moves, and how much of each, is further down this page.
Narrowing to one integration, account or region
In the bar across the top of the screen, beside the date range, are up to three dropdowns: Integration, Account and Region. They open on All Integrations, All Accounts and All Regions, and each one narrows every card and every report on the screen at once.
They work in that order. Set Integration to Amazon and Account keeps only your Amazon accounts. Set Account to one of those and Region keeps only that account’s regions. Set one back to All and the two under it widen again.
A dropdown you cannot see is a dropdown with one answer in it. Each of the three appears only when you have more than one to pick from. A seller with a single account on a single region gets the date range and nothing else.
The same three dropdowns and the same date range are inside the dialog too, beside the report’s title. Change one there and the cards behind the dialog recount with it, so you never have to close a report to widen it.
On a narrow screen all of this collapses behind a button reading Filters, with a number beside it for how many of them you have changed.
What you get inside a report
Every report is laid out the same way inside its dialog, whichever card on Reports you clicked to get there.
At the top is a row of numbers under a heading, Overview on five of the six and Repricing Status on Repricing Health. Each number is a label, a figure and a small info icon. Hover the icon and you get a sentence saying what that figure counts and how it was calculated. That is the fastest way to settle what a number on this screen means.
Under the numbers are charts, and under the charts is a table, sometimes two. The chart is there for the shape and the table under it is there for the figures. Read the chart to see whether your line is going up, and read the table when you need the day.
Working with a table inside a report
Above the rows of every table in a report is a toolbar with Search, Columns, Filter and Density on it. It is the same toolbar every other table in the Repricer gives you, and what each of those four controls does is in filters.
Two things are worth knowing here. A table of listings or of products opens on 25 rows a page, and 25, 50 and 100 are your choices in the footer under it, while a table of days has no pages and puts every day on screen at once. Changing the date range or one of the three dropdowns sends a paged table back to its first page, because the rows underneath you have just been recounted.
On Repricing Health and on Units Sold, the SKU column is a link. Click it and that listing opens in a dialog on top of the report, on the tab that matches what you clicked. On Repricing Health you get Pricing, which is where you fill in the cost or the minimum price it needs. On Units Sold you get Insights. Close that dialog and you are back on the report where you were.
Sending a report to somebody
Everything you set is in the address bar. The date range, the three dropdowns, which report is open, and where you are in its table all go in, so the report you are reading is already a link. Copy it out of the address bar and whoever opens it gets the same report, set up the same way, counted for the organization they are in.
What goes into a link like that, and what stays on your own computer, is in filters.
Limits
What a report cannot do
What the numbers cover
Which numbers follow the date range and which do not
This is the part of the screen that surprises people. The date range in the bar across the top of Reports does not move every number, because not every number is about a period.
Three of the reports count events, and an event happened on a day. A sale happened on a day and a price change happened on a day, so widening the range to Last 90 days gives you more of them and every figure goes up.
The other three count the state your listings are in right now, and a state has no day attached to it. A listing either is winning the Buy Box or it is not. It either has a cost on it or it does not. Widening the range changes none of that, so those numbers stay exactly where they were.
So a Buy Box Ownership of 62% is not 62% of last month. It is 62% of the listings you have active and in stock this minute, and it reads the same whether you asked for 7 days or for All time.
The currency your money is shown in
Every money figure on Reports, on the cards and inside every report, is shown in one currency, your organization’s, whatever currency the listing itself sells in. A sale in euros and a sale in dollars are converted and added together for you, so a total is a total instead of a pile of currencies.
Two things follow from that. The rate used is today’s, so a total for last quarter is close instead of exact to the cent. Any table with one row per listing is the exception. Each of those rows is in the currency that listing sells in, because a price you might go and change has to be the price you would type.
Your organization’s currency is the Currency field in the account app, and organizations says where to find it and what changing it does.
The cards recount on their own
You do not have to reload the screen. While Reports is open, the six cards recount when a price changes or a listing’s status moves, so nothing flashes and you do not lose your place.
A report you have open in the dialog does not do this. It reads its numbers once, when it opens, so close it and open it again if you want it counted again.
When something goes wrong
The screen has nothing on it
A report that has nothing to count does not tell you so. Its figures read zero and its table fills with zeros, so widen your date range or set the three dropdowns back to All before you decide you sold nothing.
A report will not load
Every message below comes with a Retry button under it. Nothing was changed and nothing was lost, so retrying is always safe.
When the six cards themselves cannot be counted, the message takes over the whole screen under the heading Reports error, with the same Retry button under it.
